Travelling With The Wife

To commemorate our first Wedding Anniversary, the wife and I decided to go to South Wales for a few days. Throughout the majority of this holiday, we heavily relied on the Sat-Nav features of my phone to guide us around the various tourist spots and locations.

On first day we went to the local town yo buy some necessities for the next few days. There were some items that we were unable to get so asked someone in the shop if there was another place nearby where we could buy the items. The helpful woman directed us to a nearby town that has a large supermarket for what we needed. We were given directions for where to go which was pretty straight forward.

Twenty minutes later we found the shop and got the things we required. When we got back in the car I asked my wife "Do you know how yo get back." to which she replied "Yes". So under her guidance I proceeded to drive back along the route we took. A couple if times I asked her which way and she told me what turn to take. After a short while we began to talk about our plans whilst on holiday, little to my knowledge that we had missed our turning. I pointed out that I did not recognise where we were to which she agreed. She then realised that we had missed out turning and had to turn back.

The next thing she said will stick with me until the day I die:

"it's my fault", she said with a sense of hatred in her voice.

The smugness overwhelmed me I and tried not to to let it show as my wife admitted to me she had made a mistake.
