It has now dawned upon me that people want something for nothing. I asked my wife to post the phone on Facebook across the local buy/sell groups. I had some interest, mostly from a girl who was eager to take the phone from me for £130 (my asking price).
She said that she does not drive and asked if I could deliver it locally. Being the nice guy I am, I obliged and took the phone to the address I was sent by text message. When I got there, nobody was home so I text the number back and enquired to what was going on. It then dawned upon me that the person I was texting was in fact the girl’s partner and he was at work all day. I informed him that I will try again later that day and hopefully she will be home. A few hours later, on my way to a friend’s house, I went again and there was still no one in. At this point I was getting annoyed and sent the gentleman a text message to say I will try again later and if there is still no one in, they will have to collect it from me.
A few more hours passed and I went to the address once again and no one home again. At this point I was getting annoyed to the point that I would snap an alligators head off. So, once again I text him and said that if you want the phone, you will have to pick it up.
This was his reply:
"Sorry I'm still at work. We will have to leave it as she can't afford. Sorry for the inconvenience"
I chose not to reply because I am the bigger man and didn't want to give them an onslaught of abuse. After calming down a bit, I then replied to inform them how annoyed I was at the fact that they asked me to deliver, which I did three times, then they decided not to have it. I can't help but think what would have happened if she was at home, was she expecting me to leave the phone and take an I.O.U?
I have decided to sell my phone to a third party website Money For Your Phone who will give me £113 for it hassle free.
To be honest, I should have done this in the first place.
